Rudolf Stingel

Biography

Rudolf Stingel was born in 1956 in Merano, Italy. Stingel’s work has been exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions. Recent solo exhibitions include Kunsthalle, Zurich (1995); Museo di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Palazzo delle Arbere, Italy (2001); “Home Depot,” Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt (2004); “Plan B,” Walker Art Center, Minneapolis (2004, traveled to Grand Central Terminal, New York); EURAC Tower, Italy (2005); Inverleith House, Edinburgh (2006); “Paintings 1987–2007,” Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago (2007, traveled to the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York); and Neue National Galerie, Berlin (2010). Stingel’s work is proudly held by institutions such as the de la Cruz Collection Contemporary Art Space, Miami; Museum of Modern Art, New York; and The Francois Pinault Collection, Italy, among others. In 2008, Stingel received second place for Best Monographic Museum Show Nationally by the U.S. Art Critics Association for the 2006–2007 season.
