November 29, 2016– December 5, 2016
Please enjoy this pdf of the works and installation shots of this year at Art Miami 2016
As part of our regular booth this year we are presenting two mini-retrospectives:
The first is Willem de Kooning showing major oils and a group of works on paper encompassing all periods of the artist’s life from 1938 to 1980.
We are especially excited to show a major work from 1964 that has not been seen for over 30 years.
The second is Hans Hofmann this is a tighly focused group of oils and and works on paper from the surrealist period of the 1940’s. It was during the early 1940s that he began producing wholly non-objective art, at the same time as he was sharing ideas with the young members of the New York School of Abstract Expressionism. As he said, he was trying to “eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak”. In his case, this meant using vigorous brushwork and saturated colours, together with both geometric and irregular forms.
We will also showcase our collection of contemporary artists such at Cattlelan, Condo, Koons, Grotjahn, Noble/ Webster, Pendleton, Prince, Ostrowski and Warhol. A selection of post war abstraction by Bluhm, Dugmore, Motherwell and others. Finally some select color field works by Frankenthaler and Noland and European works by Giacometti, Mathieu and Picasso.
We look forward to seeing you .If you cannot attend the fair or have questions please feel free to contact the gallery. Mark will be personally available in Palm Beach at 561.328.9505 to answer any inquiry you may have.
