About the Painting:
In Weatherman, Tworkov employs the over-all composition strategy of the Abstract Expressionists. Weatherman bears a striking resemblance to Tworkov’s painting, Dayround, and famous series of paintings, The House of the Sun. Like de Kooning, Tworkov uses broad, freely-applied, gestural brushstrokes. Additionally, he lowers the color values to a soft blue-gray to stress the lines and abstraction.
