Our research shows that JMB combined two drawings into one composition and then used photocopies of parts of the combined drawing as background for two paintings: Famous (double-sided) and Ishtar. We re-framed the pieces as one combined drawing following the outline of tape marks that JMB had used to put them together. We believe this was the intent of of the artist.
