About the Painting:
A letter dated February 24, 2010, handwritten and signed by Theresa Christopher reads as follows: “This painting is by Frank Stella, done by him before he was well known. It was given to my father-in-law, Frank C. Christopher, M.D. by Frank Stella’s father, who was also a physician. They were friends and associates from the same city, Malden, MA. It was given to my father-in-law sometime in the 50’s or 60’s and in time it was given to my husband, Nick Christopher, and has been in our family since.”
